[WQDM02.01] Mice problems, round 1


From different doors, the members of the crew enter the dollhouse's recreation room.  Within they find four mice - probably normal sized mice but gigantic compared to their toy-sized bodies.

The party prepare for battle.

The quickest to act, Taji starts with casting a bladeward protective cantrip (NA) and them moves to a position where he could hide (BA).  Taji rolls a 6 + 7 = 13.  Not enough to hide behind the pillar.

Feather them moves next.  Selecting the closest mouse to Gene, he marks it as a favored enemy (BA) and then shoots with his longbow (NA).  Feather rolls am 18 + 5 = 23.  He hits the mouse (M3) which takes 1 + 2 + 5 = 8 damage.  He manages to hit the creature's leg, slowing its movement down.

Gene tried to move faster by manipulating luck via his tides of chaos but luck doesn't seem to be at his side.  He then tries to move away from the mice - heading towards the back row of the party (MV), he then pulls out slingshot, focuses on his target (via Innate Sorcery BA)  and shoots off a chromatic orb as the nearest mouse (same mouse that Feather attacked)(MA).  The spell automatically causes a magic surge.  Gene rolls a 5 and a 19.  Taking 19+5 as advantage.  The chromatic fire orb hits dealing 7+5+4 = 16 fire damage on the mouse (M3).  As the chromatic orb hits the mouse, it bursts into a puff of green smoke which the mouse inhales causing it to be poisoned.

Joey moves to engage the mouse on the south side of the room (MV).  She plans to use defensive flourish on the mouse but fails to hit.  Rolls a 2.  

From behind Joey, Rod casts magic missile on the mouse Joey is in melee with.  The magic missiles hit for 2+1, 1+1, 3+1 = 9

Elrond moves forward to engage the mouse.  He swings his maul.  Rolls a 15 + 5 = 20 hits.  5+4+3 = 12 radiant damage.  He then summons a spiritual copy of his maul.  He attacks with the Maul but misses.  

The mice proceed to attack.   The first one tries to bite Elrond (rolls a 17+6 = 23 or 4+6 = 10), but the cleric manages  to blind it with a warding flare causing it to miss its attack.

The third mouse charges Feather - rolls a 12+6 and 1+6.  It groggily tries to grab at the ranger but fails.

The second mouse finds a path and charges Gene - rolls a 3+6 = 9 and misses.

The fourth mouse bites at Joey.  It rolls a 13 + 6 = 19.  She tries to parry the attack with her scimitar (AC 16 +2) but it still hits. The bite does 7+8+4=19 points of damage but Joey manages to remember Elrond's waring on fighting mice and she just takes 12.

Rolex summons a force ballista turret (MA).  He instructs the ballista to shoot the mouse attacking Joey but misses (rolls 5+5 =10)
